Removing all the distracting elements from a scene to leave only the most important is probably the hardest challenge of photography.
If I imagine I’m a painter, who would refuse to paint something into a scene if it distracts, I can concentrate the composition onto the key visual elements.
When creating these images I am not trying to strictly represent the subject as such, I am concentrating more on the textures and patterns in the frame.
Subtle post-processing techniques also add an important dimension to the way these images come to fruition.
